American Trench - The Field Sock
The most technical sock we ever made was first created for the most demanding of groups: United States Special Operations Forces. Even the yarn was made specifically for the military. Everything about this sock is combat-compliant, ready for the field.
The construction of this sock is so specific that our factory partner had to buy special knitting machines make it. The true rib top is both comfortable and stays up with ease. The back of the heel and footbed is reinforced with terry loops to prevent blisters and provide a comfortable layer for every step.
The yarn itself is a blend of moisture-wicking polyester and wool, designed to keep a soldier's feet dry for an extended stay in the field. It's actually astonishing how warm and dry these socks will stay no matter how intense the activities get.
These socks are true military spec made from original military yarn, and compliant with the Berry Amendment. 100% made in USA, from fibers to yarn to construction. No compromises.

What does “Made in the USA” mean to us?
All of the products at American Trench are, unless otherwise noted, manufactured in America with raw materials being factory-assembled into finished goods. All end-state manufacturing takes place within the United States.
Many of our products are made in America of American materials. This is considered to be an American-made piece, through and through.
From FTC.gov: "According to the Federal Trade Commission, for a product to be called Made in USA, or claimed to be of domestic origin without qualifications or limits on the claim, the product must be “all or virtually all” made in the U.S. The FTC then considers other factors, including how much of the product’s total manufacturing costs can be assigned to U.S. parts and processing, how far removed any foreign content is from the finished product, and the importance of the foreign content to the product’s form or function. A qualified Made in USA claim describes the extent, amount or type of a product’s domestic content or processing. It indicates that the product isn’t entirely of domestic origin. Examples of qualified Made in USA claims include “60% U.S. content,” “Made in USA of U.S. and imported parts,” and “Couch assembled in USA from Italian Leather and Mexican Frame." Costs don’t tell the whole story. In some instances, only a small portion of the total manufacturing costs are attributable to foreign processing, but that processing represents a significant amount of the product’s overall processing.”If any portion of our final products are attributable to "foreign processing," we note that such products are made in America using imported materials. In an effort to make exceptionally unique pieces, we extend our reach to the highest-quality fabric, yarn, and hardware suppliers overseas. We seek to give you current and specific information, for example, by identifying the particular state or locality of manufacture when possible.
